Foreshadowing

When Moishe comes back to the ghetto, he tells the other jewish people was horrific events he witnessed. this hints that the other jews in the ghetto might have the same fate as the people Moishe talked about.

When the Jews got relocated for the second time, living conditions once again got worse. This could possibly hint at that living conditions could get worse once again the next time they get relocated.

When the jews were cramped into ghettos, it shows the progression of the violation of rights.

When the jewish council leader could not speak about the future it shows that the German's brutality is growing.

Father's face was pale when he found out about the transports.

Elie's father's Hungarian police friend came to worn then of what is to come.

Father eventually dies as stated in Elie's thoughts.

Jews coudn't imagine anything worse then waiting in line.
